Sometimes the bone is inadequate to place the implant in height and/or width. In such cases addition procedure needed to place the implant.

This procedure includes GBR (Guided Bone Regeneration)

Here very specific GBR membrane with bone graft is used to increase width and /or height of the bone. It can be done prior to implant placement or simultaneous with implant placement.

Ridge Splitting

This procedure is carried out to increase the width of the bone for the implant. Generally it is carried out along with implant placement.

Sinus Grating / Sinus Lift

This procedure is carried out in upper back teeth region, where the maxillary sinus (a hollow cavity in the upper jaw) jeopardize implant placement. It can be carried out direct or indirect.

(A) Direct Sinus Lift (Sinus Graft)

Here lateral window created in the bone to raise the level of the bony cavity in upper jaw. Implants can be placed simultaneous with the procedure or later depending on available bone.

(B) Indirect Sinus Lift

This can be carried out through the hole created for implant placement . Special instruments (osteotomes)are used for that procedure.

Autogenous Graft

Sometimes when the bone is very thin and height of the bone is very less, a graft of bone taken from various other site in the mouth like chin to gain more bone at implant site.
